Songwriting and the Music Industry

A song – musical poetry, collection of frequencies, a map of sounds, often possessing the ability to stir emotions. Songs have been a part of human expression for centuries, serving as a bridge between personal stories and shared experiences. But how does a song come to be? And what needs to happen for you to be able to stream it on your favorite platform?
In this course, we’ll explore the fascinating journey of a song—from the first spark of inspiration to its completion and distribution to listeners around the world.
The main focus of the course will be the practical art of songwriting—helping you develop the skills to transform your ideas into fully formed songs. You will be working with other creative minds to write at least one full song which you will be able to perform at the end of the week. This course is adapted to fit all levels of experience.
Aside from the practical part, we’ll dive into the meaning of „industry,“ a term rooted in the Latin industria, signifying diligence and hard work. In the music world, this translates to a complex network of roles and processes working together to create, market, and deliver songs to audiences. But how does this intricate machinery operate? What are the key roles, and where does the songwriter fit into the bigger picture?
To find the answer to these and other questions, join this course!
