The Future with Artificial Intelligence

Experts argue whether the impact of artificial intelligence on the world will „only“ be as big as the internet, or as big as the industrial revolution, the printing press, the discovery of fire, or even the emergence of Homo sapiens. This course will try to convey what our current best estimates are of what awaits us, but at the same time provoke a debate among participants about what we want to await us. What kind of relationship do we have and want to have with artificial intelligence on a personal and societal level?

Course content:
1. Where we are in AI right now and where we are heading.
2. What are the main inputs to AI and the geopolitics of AI. Main players.
3. The future of work. Automation vs. augmentation.
4. Robot therapists, sycophants, and companions.
5. What values should AI embody? AI alignment.
6. What will we do next? Personal and collective agenda.

The course will be conducted through a combination of lectures and discussions among participants. We will talk on a technical-social level about what the current possibilities of AI are in the summer of 2026, how we perceive artificial intelligence in our lives, and what the current estimates are regarding the near future.

This course has no prerequisites for prior knowledge of AI (or other areas).

Tomáš Dulka

Tomáš tries to live life so that his CV doesn’t fit into a single paragraph. He didn’t finish three bachelor’s degrees, played professional online poker, hitchhiked around the world for nine months, completed nineteen online courses, and taught himself to program. After years, he finally finished his degree and did a Master’s in Development Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. While working at the World Bank in Washington, he decided to reorient to AI. For a while, he did research in the interpretability of neural networks in London, eventually returning to Prague and working in the research team of the startup Aisle on automating cybersecurity using artificial intelligence. In his free time, he used to play a lot of LARP; today he likes reading books, dancing, and follows news and debates about AI way too much.
