Applied Earth Sciences
Discover how Earth’s building blocks—minerals and geological formations—shape our planet and influence modern engineering. This course isn’t just for rock enthusiasts (though you’ll love it too); it’s for anyone curious about using science to tackle real-world problems. Over six days, we’ll mix theory with practical experience, including one or two days of field exploration (weather permitting, of course).
We’ll explore geological formations, the processes driving Earth’s changes, and apply this knowledge to real-world challenges like climate change, energy sustainability, and resource management. Through discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities in nature, you’ll learn how geological insights can lead to innovative engineering solutions.
No prior knowledge is required. Join us to find out how Earth Sciences play a crucial role in today’s engineering challenges and develop a new appreciation for Earth’s dynamic nature.
